UNMISS repair roads in Twic

The team of UNMISS Civil Engineers contractors has begun the repair and maintenance of the already damaged roads in Twic State.

The UNMISS civil engineers team headed by Wuor Anthony Chol met with Turalei County Commissioner Santino Amuol Majok on Thursday last week in his office. The meeting discussed the repair and maintenance of the road from Turalei to Wunrok County and then proceed to Kuacjok, the capital of Gogrial State.

According to Chol, the Quick Impact Project work was supposed to begin from Kuacjok up to Ajak Kuac County. However, it couldn’t be done as it was planned because of the time limit. The UNMISS civil engineers team from China are left with two months before their mandate expires and others come in. He also said they used to repair and maintain the roads during the dry season but didn’t disclose what delayed them up to rainy season this year.

On his part, Turalei Commissioner Santino Amuol Majok thanked the team and assured them to work together hand in hand to serve the community. He also encouraged the engineers to do a quality work that will last for a long time. Last month a pick-up car loaded with goods from Abyei to Turalei overturned between Pandit Amuol and Wunrok County. The passengers all survived with minor injuries
